Scan Your Blog Theme For Potential Vulnerabilities.

Posted in Anatomy of a Blog, Getting Your Feet Wet on February 27th, 2008 by DB

You have your blog setup, you’ve paid for a custom theme or you’ve waded through all the infinite free themes available and finally selected a theme that you like and can live looking at constantly for the next year. You’ve spent time hardening your blog. Excellent!! Now it’s time to scan your blog theme for any potential vulnerability.

Blog Security has released a plugin that you will need to download, install and activate. Once activated just head over to their online scanning function/page. Enter your blog url and the scanner uses the installed plugin to run through a series of vulnerability checks and spots any security flaws that your blog theme might have. Don’t forget to deactivate your wp-scanner plugin once you are done scanning to prevent unauthorized scanning using the same plugin.

Keep the plugin updated and scan regularly.
